The Baltimore Museum of Art exhibits a wide variety of art works in many styles from all over the world. Periods covered include the the stone age through the modern day.
Of special note is the Cone Collection - an entire wing devoted to displaying the works of Matisse, Picasso, van Gogh, Cezanne, Gauguin, Renoir, and many other masterpieces assembled by Baltimoreans Claribel and Etta Cone during their frequent trips to Paris in the early 20th Century.
Other collections of the BMA include a Modern Art wing, an Asian Art gallery, an extensive collection of American decorative art, and the very popular sculpture garden. Thanks to a significant grant, the BMA now has free admission to the public. Currently the BMA is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and major Holidays. Check their website for updated hours of operation.
